Process engineer and creator of IQARUS.
I’m Michel Werts, a process engineer with over 20 years of experience and Six Sigma training. I know what manufacturing companies need to grow, improve their quality and increase their yield. I’ve worked in the electronics, optics, medical and aerospace industries, and I’ve seen the same thing everywhere: companies struggling to find a structured approach to reducing risk.
Alongside my work as a Principal Engineer, I developed IQARUS, software for managing process FMEAs and related documents. This project brings together two worlds: my passion for programming (apps, games and production tools) and my drive to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
FMEAs are still mostly created and managed in Excel, without version control, or in specialist software with expensive licences. With IQARUS, I offer a simple middle ground that suits small and medium-sized businesses.
My goal is to make Quality Management accessible to everyone and, wherever possible, to help companies improve their production.
